pepperdine merit scholarships?

Hi I'm really curious about the merit scholarships at Pepperdine University but haven't really found much information on them. I know there is one for 26k and 22k, but are there any others?
And if you received any of these merit scholarships, what were your sats?
Also, if anyone knows, what are the deadlines to apply for music or theater scholarships?

Thank you so much!!

Pepperdine gives merit scholarships to the top 10% of their entering freshman class, I believe. CoC members can apply for an additional scholarship, which is around 8k. According to their financial aid page they also have other private scholarships, but information about these is pretty vague. Your best bet may be contacting the financial aid office directly.

Music and theatre scholarships are available through audition only, which you need for admission to those programs anyway. You need to fill out a separate application asap and send it in if you haven’t already. I’m auditioning for Vocal Performance so I know all the music auditions are in late Jan. Not sure about theatre, but I’m sure it’s on the website. When you audition for the degree program they also evaluate your scholarship eligibility.

I am applying too, I have gone and sat down with both admissions (who deals with merit money) and financial aid. They told me the merit scholarships just go to the top % of all those admitted students. They told me that it usually is people with about a 3.8 overall (not sure if weighted or unweighted). But they are a private school so they can do what they want. But they also look at how hard your schedule was.

Then those admitted get sent to financial aid, who deals out all the grant and other money, based on how badly you need it, and how strong of an applicant you are. Pepperdine gives out a lot of money, but only to those who show they need/want it. The financial aid office told me that they dole out money, then they go back and cut some out until they are in-budget. The first people they cut money from are those who do not have everything completed (FASFA and other misc forms). So make sure you get all your paperwork turned in ASAP (February 15th is the deadline).

Interdepartmental grants, you have to email the heads of the departments on your own and ask about them, some are willing to give to freshmen, others are not (like business). From what they told me, it sounds like theater/music gets more of a working/project based money, rather than just a gift, but I am not 100% sure.

If you are close to Pepperdine, or are going to visit, make sure you call ahead of time and make an appointment to sit down with them, and discuss with them what your options are. Everyone who works there is really nice and helpful.

I hope that helped, at least a little.

Thank you both so much for responding! A scholarship is the only way I’d be able to attend this school haha. And best of luck to you on admission! :)

I heard that 10000 people applied for 900 total spots… scary thought

I applied to Pepperdine a couple years ago … I got the 26K scholarship.
