Hi there,
I was in top seven percent at my old high school, and I moved to a new high school in the middle of the junior year with a whole gpa system and different rules about taking AP classes. Old school had 5.0 GPA system and new school has 6.0 GPA system. Well I got my new rank from my new high school and I don’t even make top ten percent. I am really worried because I was making all my college apps thinking I was auto admit in Texas. I do not even know how low my scholarship chances are either. The new school is easier but the kids can take any amount of AP classes unlike my old school. I am really lost of words. I don’t know what to do. Plus my senior year schedule has hard classes for this school, and it is hard to do schedule changes unless it is an exception. I don’t know what to say sorry for the spam.
Check with your GC
I agree, schedule a meeting with your GC. Explain what you have said here. Your GC can note in the LOR that you were in the top 7% at the old school. Be proactive and ask your GC to include this info. I suggest bringing a parent along if possible too. As far as how many AP classes you should take, as I am guessing you are confused about that, it will be difficult to take more than three or four and still get good grades in all of them. You need to maintain a high GPA. Schedule the meeting with the counselor asap.
