I've taken both the subject tests and the SAT once (I'm currently a junior).

Last year, I took the SAT and got in the low 2300s.

I got my SAT subject scores back today. I got 2 800s (math + science), but I only got a 760 on another science exam.

I definitely plan to take the SAT one more time (to shoot for a 2400). I'm curious as to whether colleges view a 2400 as significantly better than a 2350 (as in more than 50 points).

And finally, should I take the SAT subject test again? If so, what do you recommend I take? I plan on applying to all of the top colleges.

A 2400 is pretty much the same as a 2350+. Only difference is bragging rights.

You seem to be obsessing over test scores a lot. Usually at the top colleges, if you’re rejected, you’ll be rejected for some reason other than test scores. That said, I wouldn’t waste any more time/money on standardized tests and focus on the rest of your application.

A 2400 on a first try might look a little better than a 2350 on a first try. But if you retake a 2350 to get a 2400, you look like you’re obsessing over tests when you have better things worry about. When you get that ridiculous, you probably make your app look worse.

I wouldn’t retake the subject test, since you already have another science score. Just don’t send the 760 if you feel really bad about it, but it’s still a good score.
