Im taking a year abroad in the U.S (I study in England) but i dont have a clue where to go!

Majors: American studies/history and film

weather: Hot and sunny and cold and windy i really dont care

Atmosphere: Partyyyyyyyyyy atmosphere and laid back BUT also has a good rep and isnt a crappy....I enjoy watching sports but im not really good at them though so not a REALLY sporty uni....

Cost: Quite a cheap cost of living etc etc as its costing a bomb just to get to the U.S anyways!

USC matches a couple of the things you mentioned perfectly. It's considered top notch, but definitely easier to get into than harvard, yale, etc. Has a top 2 or 3 film program, and is one of the very best football teams. definitely good for parties. don't know about cost of living in LA, though. Probably a little steep, since it's a city.

Remember that University of Texas austin is very competitive for out of state....University of Wisconsin has a huge party scene and very good academics,,,

If your considering the University of Miami, then you should also consider the University of Florida. It has the best of all things: academics, school spirit, parties, etc...

It's a very good school, that is not far from South Beach (which probably has some of the best looking people on the planet). Athletics are very strong, and the social scene is great.

right so i think its a flip between michigan and miami!

i think i may put seattle as 5th choice, texas as 4th, california (davis/santa barbara/san diego as 3rd and the other 2...i just dont know!!!!!!!

any more tips?

i will be 20 when im there aswell so maybe somewhere which is lenient when it comes to fake ID's/good house party scenes hahaha
