Just figured I would throw this out in case someone is interested. The program "Young Artists showcase" that runs here locally in NY on WQXR, 96.3 FM (can be listened to over the net on wqxr.com, or on itunes radio) is featuring a concert the New York Youth Symphony did in March of this year. I think this week (tonight) they will be broadcasting the 1st movement of the performance of Brahm's first symphony and next weds they will be broadcasting movements 2-4 plus a Chavez piece. It broadcasts at 9pm. (Notice of conflict of interest:my son is a member of this ensemble).if you want to have fun, the NY Times chief critic reviewed it, listen to the peformance and then see if you agree with him or not,the article is on the NY times web site:)

Also, the symphony is having its last concert of the year on Sunday, May 31st at Carnegie Hall at 2pm, doing Mahler 4, Debussy's "apres midi d'une faun" (yes, Madame Naugle, my French stinks), and a premiere piece. I figured I would post this here as well, they have had to scale back publicity due to budget constraints:)
