performing arts dorm/visual arts minor

Has anyone lived in the Performing arts dorm? If so, how is it? (i.e. the students who live there, the activities, is there AC?, etc)

I'm also planning on doing a visual arts minor... does anyone know what we will be graded on? technique, originality of work? I've never taken a "real" art class....The one at my school isn't really serious...

oh yea...
does the arts community dorm have AC?

Nope, I believe Bell Tower, Rnadolph, and Blackwell are the only undergraduate residence halls to have AC on east Campus.

to all the freshman in the class of 2011 out there who are worried about not having AC...yeah, it sucks if you dont get it. but unless you get bell tower, you will have a much bigger room. also, you will be much closer to everything. after september, AC DOES NOT MATTER. if you have the right fans it isnt so bad, esp if you are out all the time making new friends in the first few weeks. common rooms and study rooms have AC in non-AC dorms...it bonds people. you can try getting a doctor's note to get an AC unit installed, or just illegally install your own (they sell ones that are like attached to the floor and not to a window...i dont know how they work, but ive heard abt people having them). but really, no ac is NOT that big of a deal and its just something that you will have to come to terms with when coming to duke. im not going to lie and say, oh you barely need it. but in reality, once winter and like february come, you will forget that you ever complained about lack of AC. its all relative. you will live thru it though, and maybe bond with your dormmates along the way.....

is there a sort of performing arts dorm clique or do they intermix with people from other dorms a lot?
