Permit to Report - CIS

My packet came today. I report at 9:15. -Go Navy! Haven't heard what company yet. I am extremely eager to find out though.

I report at 7:30 and this paperwork is going to take a long time to fill out.

Got mine today too. Report 0830. Was looking through the material and saw some information that lead me to belive that only my parents can get into the grounds for I-day. I think this must be wrong since I believe anyone can attend the swearing in ceremony. Any input.

Got mine too, reporting at 730. No mention of the company, just a ton of paperwork. Also got a nice sticker that says 2012 to put on my car.

I think it goes by last name, starting at 6AM. I am also scheduled to report at 6:30, and my last name is Bu....

Jaybee9590, we are also in Rochester.

Don't think it goes by last name. Mine starts with Br and my report time is 7:30

from what i've heard reporting times are completely random.
i know at WP it's done by the first number of your SSN, which would make it by the region you were born in. dunno if navy does the same.

USNA: report times are not alphabetical, do not have anything to do with SS# or Company assignment. Just random.

"W" - here.....son is scheduled to report at 0800 hrs. on I-day.

My report time is 0630. At least it won't be so hot that early.

WOW! That SF-86 form is a doozy. Like 15 pages! I got 0830 which I hope does not correspond to the company you are in because I cannot be in 25th company. Anything but 25th company!

Why not 25th?

My brother was a firstie that trained the firsties who will be training class of 2012. He was in 25th company and if they recognize the last name, I am toast.

Nothing against the people in 25th, but I just don't want my life to be even more of a hell over the summer because they have a bone to pick. :-)

Ah, that makes sense. No need to stand out more than you have to.

I was a drag with 25th during CVW, so I'm hoping to get assigned there.

Just read a few things in the included book. One it said that you may wear a wrist watch (for those runners out there who were wondering earlier). It also said that you won't find out your company, platoon, etc. until you report on I-day. Is this typical?

^^^^ As for the wrist watch - it said the same for the class of 2010 - son's wrist watch was taken away and returned in August when they went to the Orioles game. Booklet is generalities - training is up to the individual companies.

The paper work isn't too bad, it only took a few hours. The thing that will take the longest is the academic background information you submit on CABS and that's only because of the math placement tests. See you at 0830 TXinAK.

My son's PTR came yesterday, too. He reports at 0700.
