Arrived today!

Do you know if all the permit to report packets are sent out at once? Do we get our company/platoon assignments in the packet or do those come later?

I was told that the permit to report packets were all sent out at once (or atleast they want to send them all out at once... seeing as how some people don't get their appointment til after the April send time) I was also told that you don't get your company/platoon assignments til after the summer. But I haven't read that anywhere... thats just what I've heard

Yes, you do not get your platoon-company information until about 1-2 weeks until I-Day.

rmoorenc recieved a permit to report packet has anyone else?

For those who have sent in their acceptance letters; did you send it via registered or overnight express mail? Did you follow up with your RD to ensure they received it?

My son received his today. We are in Kentucky. He sent his acceptance by regular mail around 03/10/05

I also got my permit to report package today as well... I had sent in the acceptance via DHL so I could track it and get a name for whoever signed for it... Oh I can't wait...

SpiderMD:

When did you send your acceptance form back? Does anything change on the CIS when your form is processed?

I just mailed mine in the regular envelope left over from the ones that came with the application package last summer. Nothing has changed on my website.

I haven't received my permit to report package yet, either. I did receive something from the sprint football coach today. It had the "Navy Guide to Annapolis", the "Navy 2004 Sprint Football Media Guide" and a letter. "You have been selected as a prospective Plebe that we are considering for the Naval Academy's Sprint Football Team." I have feeling anyone that was a varsity football player and ways less than 170 was selected as well :).

Got mine today in California!!! It comes with a USNA 2009 bumper sticker!!!

Nothing changes on the CIS from what I've seen... and I sent my acceptance letter in Feb. 25th

My son got one of those sprint football things too. We were hoping it was the permit to report package so were sort of disappointed. My son hasn't played football since sophomore year. His dream has always been to play baseball for Navy but the coach couldn't be less interested in him. If the sprint coach is casting such a wide net, I don't think I should encourage my son. Any ideas about what he could do? He was all conference and a starter on the legion team that won the state championship and finished second in the region so he is a good player and a good athlete. What other opportunities would there be for him? How much time is devoted to athletics during plebe summer?

Anyone know why some have gotten the permit to report and others haven't?

Is there a geographical distribution or issue related to when you submitted your acceptance?

We are in Illinois and haven't gotten the package. I would be worried except my son did get the sprint football letter so someone knows that he accepted the appointment. Our last name is toward the end of the alphabet so maybe that is why since his appointment was one of the first.

Some candidates in Southern California have received their Permit to Report packets; others haven't. My daughter accepted the appointment, but hasn't received the Permit to Report information. However, several weeks ago a female plebe from USNA called to answer any questions my daughter might have about USNA or plebe summer. We thought that was a nice gesture. :)

My son has not received his package [Texas] but he did receive a vague e-mail from the Lt. in charge of his application giving him e-mail addresses to his "future classmates." I suppose we * will take comfort in this.

Just one more bit of anxiety associated w/ this process. [Akin, I suppose, to your child being one of the last people out of I-day processing.] I suppose the wisdom that comes with age causes you to know that nothing is done until its done, i.e. like selling a house and knowing that anything could screw it up until the moment you have the money. The kids, of course, aren't a bit worried about any of this; the parents are the only ones that seem anxious now.

Got mine today!! :)
