Some of my schools requested photos and some did not....and they often write that you can send an optional photo in small print somewhere, I nearly missed it on 1 app.

But for Rice.....no personal photo (like a senior photo), correct? Except for whatever image we upload for the little 2 by 2 inch box?

Or was it optional?

Thanks!

if you don’t mind me asking, what schools asked for a photo? I find that a little odd. I don’t think Rice asked for one but maybe I missed it on all of my apps…

I have not seen a school ask for a photo before.

St. Olaf does; it’s an optional part so they can get a taste of the of the person applying. So does Pomona. Although I used it show me doing a pic one of my important extracurriculars, which I think is what they want as opposed to a picture for ID

Pomona, but it is optional.

Interesting. I would think there is some anti-discriminatory clause somewhere that said you cannot request a picture. Then again, it is optional, so that might be a workaround.

Thanks for the info. As for Rice, no photo. Put anything in the box. I put a picture and a little story of my rescue pet owl for example (sneaky huh?).

Rice doesn’t ask for a photo for applications. If you do get accepted, a photo will be asked for for roommate questionaires/for advidors and coordinators can put a name to a face for O-Week.

my s sent a few pictures to rice also…

Although its not that they outright asked for a picture but instead a picture of something you enjoy doing. He sent his via email and he was able to fit 3 pictures on the page.

I would not suggest putting a personal photo. I read a scientific article saying how people naturally judge others by their looks, many times unintentionally. I want to get into college based on merit thank you.
