For acne help: avoid touching your face.
Wash gently a couple times a day. Be sure to use moisturizer. If you wash too aggressively, you will actually CAUSE yourself to get bad skin (not sure if it's acne, but it's bumpy and not good).
Avoid foundation makeup.

Proactiv never worked for me. I have sensitive skin. I just got a really good facial soap and took better care of my face. I also got this little cream from my dermatologist which I apply onto the breakouts. My skin is really clear now.
I think taking better care of your skin would help a lot.

For the past couple months I've been using Lush products, including a cleanser called Aquamarina and a tea tree oil toner.

Thanks again for all the great tips!

you're welcome (although I didn't post in this thread) consider it on behalf of the rest of them

hahaha nice!

i thought that proactive crap was a gimmick... jessica simpson is a liar

Stop being so stressed.

Go to a dermatologist at least once a year!! Mine lives in Europe so it's kinda hard to go regularly but she gives me pills, a bunch of creams and stuff that i dont really know how to use, and even make up. When I run out, I find that Clean & Clear is ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGGGGG because its perfect and helps A LOT but remember, when you start using a product, you get adapted to it and your acne will be even worse if you even skip a day. I use like 11-15 products just to prevent it cuz for me when it comes, its BADD.

Clinique is expensive, but great.

I tried several tropical medications my dermatologist recommended but none of them helped, in fact they caused itchiness and extremely dry peeling skin. So I stopped using them. I was reading Seventeen a couple of weeks ago and came across a section where it taught you how to get rid of whiteheads/blackheads/redness, etc and I did exactly as the instruction told. I applied a Clean&Clear cleanser, a Neutrogena face mask, and the Clean&Clear oxygenating mosturizer once a week and my skin now feels much cleaner and smoother.

I have pretty good skin and rarely get pimple, but my mother had adult acne for a very long time. Once she started using Retin-A Micro, it cleared up very nicely. Now she has relatively clear skin with the occasional pimple. I used to use Neutrogena face wash and it had a terrible effect on my skin. I started to get peely skin and redness.

Even though I do not have acne, I have something that I think is a little bit worse. FRECKLES. They invade my face. It's not a light dusting across my nose. It's not a slight sprinkle over my rosy cheeks. No, they're *****spots covering my whole face. In the winter, they fade to a light cinnamon color, but now that it's summer, they're dark brown and running rampant. Ugh. And I can't take anything to make them go away. Unfortunately, they're here to stay.
