<p>They must add up to about 1000, with each essay staying as close to the "limit" as possible. So the first two should be about 200 (I would say no off by 10, so 190-210) and the open ended be 590-610.</p>

They don't tell you this threshold .. so I'd say play it safe and call it 10 words.</p>
<p>The website I believe gives a better explanation .. I think they said a few words over was okay, but gotta be conservative and stick with the "10 word rule".</p>
