Any tips for writing good personal statements? Mine feel almost too autobiographical.
Especialy the first essay, where they ask you what are the things in your life which enabled you to be the person you are today.
i'm french and it's quite hard to tell the admission comittee about myself in just a few lines....there are so many things that I want to say!

It’s actually good to make it autobiographical/unique, just make sure that you have a “conclusion” of sorts. In other words, it’s good to tell them about yourself…but be sure to answer the question of WHY those things would make you a great Cal student. Tell them about how those things you just told them -and the lessons you learned from it- have given you the tools you need to succeed and be an active part of the Cal community. That’s what the admissions people want to see :)
