Hi,
I wanted to know if all UC’s look at personal statements the same way? For example i have heard UC berkeley gives personal statements a lot of consideration compared to UC’s like santa cruz and riverside which don’t really look into PS that much.
Berkeley is much more holistic
Oh does thag mean basically the other UC’s (like the ones i mentioned) donot reay look into your essays? @dota2fan
the essays do matter still
UCSD doesn’t care about your personal statements or extra curriculurs, just your grades (a UCSD admissions officer told me this. she flat out said they don’t even read them (i imagine they have to read them though?) and don’t get any consideration)
UC Berkeley and UCLA do though.
@otoribashi I was also told the same information by a UCSC admissions officer. Regardless, I am still going to try my best haha.
@otoribashi @loyalfan49 The 2017 Transfer Matrix says UCSD reads the Personal Insights. They started about a year ago. Never trust a single rep who says “flat out” they don’t. That’s how you screw up.
UCSC does not read them.
