I guess that the Academic year 16-17 should be the Fall in NYU in the old version of housing site.
Possibly you all can despite the summer sections and just look at spring and academic year 16-17 (Fall).
I have Summer 2016 and Academic Year 2016-2017. When I click on “Access Application” for Summer 2016 it takes me to this 12-step application process…any thoughts?

I am able to fill out a 12 step housing application, but I was rejected with guaranteed transfer from BU so I don’t really know what to make of this.
My mother went to NYU, but I only have a 27 ACT so still unsure if this is good or not

I have what @ham2016 but mine also includes NYU Paris in the “Summer 2016” option.
@Chalamagne916: How do you know that it’s freshman? Does it explicitly say “Freshman” under a certain category?
And mine doesn’t say “Fall”? It says “Academic Year 2016-2017” When I click on that, it goes to a “Term Selector.”

@Chalamagne916 doesn’t know the answer. I don’t see any value of your observation and instead making us more confused. Let just wait for the decision instead of reading observations and speculations that may be misleading.

Surely i don’t know the answers.
The fact is that this theory has been used for 2 years, while it also seems to be credible for 2016 ED2 applicants, until they change the whole appearance of the housing page, which possibly can completely undermine this theory.
One of my assumption when writing this thread is that NYU won’t fix this glitch/bug until later.
And i clearly state it in my writing:
“also based on the assumption that NYU officials won’t fix this boon indicator of a surprising nature”

Admitted to Stern yesterday. This housing portal speculation should be retired since it is misleading and is not true. Even if this theory worked in the past, it is already history and provide no more value anymore!!! I just hope that future applicants won’t waste their time trying to find clues to predict the decision outcome. Good luck!
Housing theory is FALSE!!! i was non-renewable undergraduate the whole time leading up to 5pm ET and i was admitted. don’t worry about silly theories… (also dont worry about the FA “box” theory–I did not have a box but was awarded a scholarship!)
The housing theory has not been “proven” to be false. Even in the past, not getting the change didn’t neccessary mean a rejection but getting the change was a good sign in a lot of cases. Yesterday, the people who said their status changed to freshman a few hours before results came out later all posted that they got in. Again, not getting freshman did not neccessarily mean getting a rejection. The theory definitely saved me a few hours of stress.
