Pet Peeves!

Does anyone hate people who nit-pick at EVERY hypothetical situation because they want to sound like there is a right answer that's above every other answer?

It's like they try to find a loophole in every situation in an attempt to find the 'perfect' answer.

JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION!

People who get mad at people who study to get their good grades.

People who ask if they should retake a 35 ACT or 780 Subject Test.

cough everyone here.

Though there’s one that I will agree on - people that take until the very last minute during a test so the entire class has to sit there quietly for 20 minutes.

I loathe when people bite their nails… Use clippers, I don’t want to hear anyone eating their fingers.

I hate when people talk during class. Like when I’m doing notes and I hear their conversation about this awesome party. I don’t care, the teacher who hears you doesn’t care, and you’re disrupting me. Stop.

When people don’t spell in texts. I can’t decipher random acronyms like “yxla lololol”. They make no sense and I know you have a keyboard on that phone. Spell!

When my food touches. It can’t. It just can’t!

All colored candy has to be organized by color and number. Do not mess up my organized candy. I swear, nothing bothers me more.

People who are in denial. So, so annoying. How no one else sees the obvious is beyond me, I don’t think I’m that observant, but apparently if people haven’t noticed certain things about certain people,

When people take about teams in the NBA such as the Heat and refer to them as the “Heats”

Oh my God this is my most important one:

How people on CC always refer to their classes as Honors or something. There’s no modesty. I’m in “honors pre calculus” - I call it math. It’s like everyone is constantly trying to measure themselves against everyone else. There are people smarter than you so stop trying to intimidate others.

Honors Pre Calc and math are the same thing, using either is acceptable to me…i mean math, what kind? It’s a cutthroat application process, you need whatever help you can get with that although Honors Pre Calc is pretty weak…haha.

also at ^^above, LeBrick FTL.

personal pet peeve is people who don’t do homework, copy from someone before class and get full credit on assignment.

@CHIHSIS; See, and I didn’t like you until I read this thread. :)

Not exactly a pet peeve, but it bothers me when people act rudely to me/other people (the latter situation bothers me more) one minute and then begs for answers on an assignment/act sugary sweet the next. u_________u.

Necroposting in threads. There’s something about blatantly ignoring the date of the last post that irks me, because that’s a super Captain Obvious.

Excessive complaining about a privilege/something you elected to take. A certain amount of complaining is perfectly acceptable and is generally even welcomed, but complaining to me every day between the start of school and January about National History Day (which you CHOSE to do) gets tiring after a while.

My school calls it honors because everyone else takes Statistics and Finance. Whatever isn’t the dumb class is automatically called honors. Hey, it’s weighted, yay for me!

I don’t even know if my classes are honors or not, transcript says “Upper College Prep”…whatever that is. nbd nbd.

It’s funny because half the kids in all the honors classes are failing.

When people chew gum in class like cows! CHOMP, CHOMP, CHOMP! Grrr…

When the dumbest person in the class and the smartest person in the class are best friends, and the smartest person lets the dumbest person copy every single homework assignment that they have, and the dumbest person has a higher grade than me!

When the stupid blond whores in the back talk about their boyfriends or how terrible they are to them or how they screwed the wrong guy or say LIKE before AND after every single word when I’m trying to listen to my calc teacher!

People who ask questions that can be answered by doing a simple Google search.

People who lack any type of common sense.

It’s not a pet peeve because I love it but I have to say it:

When I hear girls on the bus talk about their plans to gang up on that one girl and rip their hair out and beat her up. I love hearing the goss!

CSIHSIS: I feel bad for that girl! Why would they do that though?

Boyfriends.

This is not exactly a pet peeve (very controversial):
I don’t know why I am kind of annoyed when high school students get all emotional about the girl and boy relationship. I mean, you are in high school, so why would you put so much of your attention into romance? When girls cry about bfs and stuff like those in class and then they let their grades slip and loose their original friends, I kind of feel sorry for them. I am not entirely against it, but just don’t put too much in it. That’s why I am not really into relationship in high school.

When people treat you poorly (and they don’t know how disrespectful they are) and when they find out much later they think they can just hug it out. I mean, either be aware of how you treat people or be legitimately sorry when you make a mistake.

I’m not sure if this is much of a pet peeve, but I am bothered by racism. Where I live, it isn’t uncommon for whites to look down upon Hispanics. Being Hispanic, I have experienced this firsthand. I am bothered by it often. There are all kinds of stereotypes about Hispanics- drugs, poor, always drunk, always getting in trouble with the law, etc. For this reason I am happy that I will benefit from AA when I apply to medical schools.

I don’t think racism can be a pet peeve. Pet peeves are usually things that most people aren’t annoyed by/care about but you find annoying for some reason. I’m pretty sure most people dislike racism.

Anyways, people who interrupt me mid-conversation to ask a question that I was literally just about to answer but they didn’t let me finish. It happens more than you think.

People who chew obnoxiously loud, especially gum.

People who need to say “like” seven times before they get their point across. This applies mostly to girls. Also when people use asterisks to express actions when typing. cringes

I’ll think of more later when I’m less tired.

Edit: Thought of another. People who make topics on here with questions or asking for help and then proceed to never check the topic ever again, rendering everyone’s time and help useless.

I hate it when people tell me that I’m going to feel a certain way about something or tell me I need to act a certain way.
