Hello everyone. I was wondering if there is a process in place, or any backdoor that anyone knows of, to petition for the right to an appeal of an admissions decision from UCSB? My niece did not get in, and did not get the option to appeal which I am disappointed in. I feel as though she did not get a fair chance, and if she was able to get someone to look at her application, and actually look at it, they might reconsider. Thoughts? Comments?
If you are eligible to appeal, the “Appeal” tab will appear at the top of your UCSB Applicant Portal
If you are rejected or waitlisted, you can appeal the decision but she will need new and compelling reasons for the appeal to be valid.
**Appeal stats for 2019:
Appeals submitted: 718
Admits: 47
rejected then you are rejected. As it says if UCSB is your main goal, go to community college then transfer. everyone gets a fair chance with their application don’t feel entitled that your application should be seen by the president karen. if you appeal they will just look at the application again (even if they did) and reject it again!!!
