Pharmacy at UT Austin?

I am a high school student (will be senior this fall) who is interested in UT Austin's Pharmacy school but wants to know more about it. I know that it isn't one of those 0-6 programs where if you finish your two years of pre-pharm studies you go straight for your PharmD without taking the PCAT. So I have a several questions for those of you knowledgable in the pharmacy area:

1) Is it better to go to a more "prestigious" school like Rice (assuming I get accepted) as an undergrad to fulfill the pre-pharm requirements, and then move on to UT's pharmacy school?

2) Would I still have a good chance at getting into UT's pharmacy school if I do my undergrad and pre-pharm at UT (because I heard UT's pharmacy school accepts less of their own undergrad students...)?

3) Is it better to study 2 yrs and just finish the pre-reqs, or is it better to stay 4 yrs as an undergrad and earn a Bachelor's before applying to UT's pharm school?

It’s really up to you. My friend did 2 years at UT then applied and was accepted into UT’s pharm school.
Many factors go into getting acceptance, not just where you go.
