I've attended Hofstra University and transferred to Stony Brook University. I'm majoring in chemistry and will graduate in the spring with a B.S in chemistry. I've been involved in the Undergrad chemical society and various other activities while working 2 years in a pharmacy. I would love to attend a pharmacy school in the Northeastern area but am unsure how to approach the search of becoming a pharmacist when most locations such as St. Johns require a 6 yr dedication straight out of high school and do not accept transfers. Is there any colleges preferably in NY that accept an individual with a B.S in chemistry and can pursue pharmacy. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thank you.

Most pharmacy schools encourage BS degrees now. SUNY Buffalo has a pharmacy school, as does Long Island University and St. John Fisher.
Try Student Doctor Network for discussion and advice. It is still difficult to get into pharmacy school, but they are opening more schools year after year. You might try expanding your school search out a bit to more states.

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (private, small) is a very prestigious college of pharmacy - very well known in the science field. They offer a very prestigious 6-year PharmD program, however transferring into their program is nearly impossible.
