PHASE 1 question (Econ 101B, Stats 134, etc.)

My Tele-bears Phase I is coming up next Monday, and I need to decide what to Phase I. I'm thinking of taking:

UGBA 102A
ECON 101B
MATH 1B
STAT 134
Econ elective

I'm a first-year, and am still undeclared for my majors (Econ, Stats, Business), so I don't get any preference for the reserved seats. What should I Phase I?

Officially, you need to have completed Math 1B before taking Statistics 134 and Economics 101B.

If you decide to take Stat 134,you should be familiar with multiple/double integrals (covered in Math 53 but you can easily figure out how it works) and working with series/summations (covered in Math 1B).

Off-topic: I’m a sophomore w/ declared double major and my telebears is on Monday too. This is ridiculous. **** telebears.

I guess I’m in a weird situation, as I’m actually currently taking MATH 16B (I thought I was just going to do Business/Econ, and figured I wouldn’t need harder math). Although MATH 1B is technically a prerequisite for ECON 101B, I was hoping I would have enough of a background from 16B to do well.

What should I Phase I though? I’m thinking probably UGBA 102A since I need to get as high on the waitlist as I can to get into the class, and I also heard STAT 134 and ECON 101B would be smart to do early as well. Any advice?

doesn’t the econ dept kick people who haven’t satisfied prereqs?
i’m pretty sure they check b/c it’s capped and 101B is important for econ majors (required) so there’d be a lot of people wanting to get in, i’d presume…

I sure hope not! From what I’ve heard, it doesn’t seem like they do, but I wouldn’t know for sure. I don’t want to have to push back taking the 101 series, as it would just delay my being able to declare Econ, which would make it harder for me to get my Econ classes in the future.
