Phase I Telebears (Nov 3)

Big problem here.

I'm looking to take these classes..

STATS 20
MATH 53
ECON 1
UGBA 10
(Insert easy breadth courses for Haas pre-reqs here)

Guess what. All the classes are literally full already, and since the pre-req courses are sought after by everyone, the timeslots for good discussions are taken as well.

How should I go about during Phase I Telebears?

Which classes should I be waitlisted in, and will I get into classes if people drop out in time?
I seriously need to take MATH 53 + ECON 1 (or UGBA 10) because I wish to take upper division math classes (pre-business + applied math major).

Gah. I hate telebears. HELP ME OUT! (Also, recommend some easy breadth courses for Haas!)

Dumb question; I don’t know about Haas or Business requirements, but it sounds like an Econ path; if Stats 20 is full, can’t you do Stats 21? Stats 21 still has a lot of space available.
That is, unless the pre-Haas track doesn’t take 21

I could do Stats 21, thanks for the heads up.

My intended major right now is economics (which is different from pre-business) but for now I’m looking towards fulfilling the requirements for Haas + continuously taking math courses.

This means I won’t go beyond UGBA 10 so I guess I slipped up on that “pre-business” statement. I also need to fulfill economics major requirements in order to declare econ as my major in L&S so… damn. I really need to MATH 53 spring semester so I can move onto 54, 55, and subsequent upper division courses…

ECON 1 I’m genuinely worried about since I need to take 101A or 101B later on, UGBA 10 maybe I could take sophomore year fall semester.

Wait…I’m confused, Haas is pre-business. So you’re trying to switch from econ to business?

Anyway I’m having a similar issue w/ UGBA, econ, H53, and breadth, (telebears on the 4th) but I’m pretty sure not a single 53 discussion is full (up until yesterday at least). I also read on another CC thread that the huge math classes tend to get most people in (disc time though, idk). Did you know you can take 53 and 54 in any order? Meaning if you don’t get 53, you could go to 54 - very different material, but that could be an option? You can also take them at the same time next semester if you really want.
