Phd in Accounting: what do they do?

<p>I am just curious. I am an Engineering student and I know if anyone getting Phd in Engineering Major, she/he will do Research after getting the Phd.</p>

<p>How about Phd in Accounting? what do they do? are they into Research, what kind of research? or perhaps they just end up teaching at colleges?.....</p>
