According to Berkeley's transfer flyer, the humanities division of L&S has a adimission rate of 44%. Unfortunately, they haven't listed and I haven't found any info concerning the admission rate for students applying with an intended major of Philosophy. (The Natural Resources division also has a 44% admit rate and Berkeley does provide information for each of the majors in that division on the flyer. I can't believe one of the majors has an admit rate of 75% ... weird.) If anyone would kind enough to share info concerning this major's admit rate, I'd be very grateful.

This has been addressed 3 or 4 times since you have been on here.

They DONT ADMIT BY MAJOR (in the case of most majors, including philosophy). Any statistic about individual majors that are part of the divisions they have is useless.

If there is a statistic listed on Berkeley's transfer sheet for an individual major, then they admit by that major; if there isn't a statistic, it's not because it's hidden, but because they admit by the division the major is located in.

Okay, I've got your point. I don't read each and every single post on the board, so I was unaware that this question had been asked and answered on--apparently--numerous occasions. So, from now on, I'll have the concept that L&S doesn't officially enroll you into a major until you have been accepted and arrive on campus seared onto my brain in CAPS.

aha sorry if it came across as rude.

I am also a philosophy applicant for Berkeley. It'd be awesome if we both get in.

Keep in mind that they DO admit by divisions within L&S: about 44% for arts/humanities, about 22% for social sciences. But you probably knew that.
