Philosophy at UF?? Gator help Needed!

Hi :)

I've been searching everywhere for some info and decided to post on here.

**I was wondering if anyone knew if the Philosophy program at UF is competitive/hard to get into?

It is NOT a limited access program, and is in the CLAS.

I applied as a transfer student for summer B 2012. I will have my AA (in two months) from a FL CC, lots of EC, and an OK GPA. ( I do meet the 'minimum' admission requirements)

The only pre recs for the major (that I was made aware of) are two philosophy courses with atleast a B in them. I already took one and got a B, and am doing my second one this semester (and will probably get an A).

I don't know if this is enough since I know it's hard to get into UF, but I am hoping my major isn't so popular, and that competition for summer terms is less.

THOUGHTS? :/

Have you tried asking your question on the UF forum?

Unless UF is different from other universities, majors like philosophy do not generally have limited admissions, you just declare your major and complete the requirements.

No I haven’t, but you know UF is going to say something politically correct and general like “all terms are equally as difficult to gain admission to”. They aren’t going to say how hard or easy admission to your term/major REALLY is, so I was trying to see what the students had to say.

The UF forum is not the college website, it is the UF forum here on CC, go to Alphabetic list of colleges and look under F.

ohh, sorry I’m new here. Thanks! I’ll check it out :)
