Congrats! That is wonderful news. I hope you hear positive results from all your schools!

Well done crickett. You should be very proud. You really have brought a special energy to this forum and now it seems you will be taking it with you to boarding school! Congratulations :)

Aww! Thanks girls :)

Crickett2324, you've been awfully quiet and a big contributor these past months here on CC. May I ask how you did for Mar. 10TH?

me wonders if her offers were true???

PRONGS!!!
where'd you go?

hmmm... very interesting! Did you get in?

She got banned lol

and she actually did get into blair and im pretty sure she got wait listed at SG.

hahaha

what did she do?

yeah, what did she do? I saw her as chirpchirp, but then that got shut down quick.

I think, just looking at the master list of classmates, she or he (I do not know her personally or never talked to her before) changed her or his id to "kiki2324" from "cricket2324" for some reasons and posted that she was accepted to Miss porter and Blair and rejected a number of schools. Maybe, she was lying or joking at the first time because I do not think the dean of admission would call like that no matter how good she is. Anyways, she got in a number of schools maybe not the ones she wanted to get in.....

or maybe she just said she got in.

i have heard of deans calling prior to 3/10 and telling you you got the merit scholorship = but not telling you you got in per the rules.

There is a big discrepancy in what she has said about Blair's Dean calling her. Crickett said the dean called her on March 4, offering her admission. Yet, on the *The Super Awesome Prep School Admissions CC people * Facebook group she says:

March 8th, 2008
IM ACCEPTED INTO MISS PORTERS!
Its the only school I've heard back from so far!

On March 9 at 8:25 AM she said she got into Blair and MPS.

is that why she got banned?

If you read through the thread, it seems to me that she received the call because it was not resolved whether she would enter as a 10th grader or as a repeat 9th grader. Perhaps she left it up to the school to determine which grade would be appropriate. She received a call from the Dean of Admissions because she interviewed crickett, and because the formal acceptance letter typically offers a place in a specific class. The discussion sounded to me like Admissions was letting crickett decide which class she wanted (repeat 9th or 10th) but also wanted a decision from her. In one of her last posts she states that her mother called back stating that she would like to enter in 10th grade. Of course the call demonstrated strong interest from the school, but the intent was not to tell her in advance that she was in. It was to clarify the grade, and in asking, let her know that she was in.

That is how I interpreted the discussion.

hm... very thoughtful interpretation Burb Parent!

I would support that interpretation in that some years back when one of my children was applying to a school that was part boarding, part day, we received a call from the admissions officer well before the decision date to confirm that the application was for the correct category, and while there was no commitment made, it was pretty clear from the phone call that the question was really what kind of acceptance to send....which did in fact arrive.

Oh! I just remembered! This sort of thing happened to me too! Wow! I can't beleive I forgot about this! Exeter called and asked if I was a US resident with a greencard. My mom and I took this for a hint that they were considering me, and I got accepted with the amount of FA I needed.

so y was cricket banned?
