<p>As an aside, it's interesting how many time this question has come up this year. But yes, the pictures is most definitely supposed to be of you. The idea, I believe, is that it allows Vassar admissions officers to essentially "attach a face to an application" and make the process a bit more personal. That being said, the picture is entirely optional and choosing not to send one in has no effect on your application.</p>
<p>for a second that leaving out the photo has no effect on the application. Call me paranoid, but why even ask for it if it didn't matter.</p>
