Physical Education

Alright, I admit it.

I'm a rising Junior with no physical education credit. Shame, I know.

But PE is like my kryptonite: they're scheduled way too early in the morning (I obviously play Blizzard games late into the night way too often) and I have no physical talent. This includes upper body strength, stamina, and flexibility.

So my question is: What are some PE classes you took that were actually fun and doesn't kill you? I heard horse-riding is kind of fun. Or juggling? Any advice will be appreciated immensely!

I think basketball would fit for this. It’s not an intense class and if you’re looking for fun you’ll get it. Typically, it’s in the late afternoon (around 2:30).

Also, you can probably get some level of physical prowess by doing some form of exercise or sport for an hour or so on most days. There are different programs out there for specific goals (strength, stamina, speed, etc.).

I took intro badminton which is in the afternoon, which is on north, but wasn’t that demanding. I’ve heard good things about intro bowling too.

Is caving an actual class, or are there just occasional meetings? You could try that.

I mean if you really dislike any kind of physical activity in general, you could always take intro bowling. All you have to do is attempt, don’t even have to hit any pins, to bowl the ball. Even if it goes into the gutter you’ll pass. Or, somehow, if it goes into the other lane you’ll still pass.

And horseback riding … I mean how hard can it be? You sit down the whole time and the horse does all the work.
/sarcasm off …

(total disclosure – have been riding since I was 6 and earned a USPC A rating at 17, rode for my college’s Intercollegiate Team in the 70s in the Open division, have taught over 1000 beginner riders, some of whom thought it would be easy since you sat down all the time)

thanks all! I think I’ll go with bowling.

My son took fencing first semester and WALKING TOURS the second semester. Fortunately, it was a mild winter, so it wasn’t too unpleasant walking around campus and environs. But you can’t beat walking for an easy PE course!

I heard that most of the PE classes cost extra money. I’m just curious, does anyone have a list of the free PE classes?

Most free PE classes include sports, some aquatics, and bowling. Though, I’m kind of ignorant on this matter as well

@NJMom - if you click on each category, it will provide a list of PE courses in that category, along with any associated fees: [Cornell Physical Education: Course Offerings](<a href=“Physical Education | Cornell University”>Physical Education | Cornell University)

Thanks gateways!
