Physical prep. for BCT

Now that BCT is just a few months off, I want to be able to prep for it as much as possible to make the beatdown sessions just a bit easier. I think I’ve already achieved a good level of fitness, but for you current cadets, what would you say a basic should be able to do before arriving to be considered in excellent shape? I’ve tried some workouts from [Welcome to CrossFit: Forging Elite Fitness](http://www.crossfit.com) as well as some of my own. For example, one crossfit workout labels 5 pullups, 10 pushups, and 15 squats as a set. You must then do as many sets as possible in a 20 minute timeframe. When I last did that particular workout, I did 26 sets. Although that’s only demonstrative of certain abilities, would you say that the stamina required to do that would also be able to last me through some of the harder times at USAFA? Any advice would be appreciated!

Stamina is key, so that will help. Keep this in mind. All Basics break, some sooner than later. But you will break, and by 2nd BCT, you seem to break instantly! You look like you're in good shape so far, just keep up your current state (or improve some) and I think you'll be fine. I slacked off the last month before coming, and while I paid, I'm doin' just fine. :)

Thanks hornetguy...I just needed to hear it from someone who's already been through it all. Are you going to be a BCT cadre this year?

Hornet's an EMT, so he'll be the one telling your broken comrades to hydrate rather than do 2010 push-ups.

Hornet will not be a basic cadre (see above), but I will be.

My personal recommendation...A good goal would be to be able to run 4 miles in 35 minutes or less, do 10-20 pullups in a max set, 60-100 pushups in a max set, and 100-150 situps in a max set.

OK cool...I'm not going to post any further info about my ability for fear of cadre taking note and singling me out later. Whether this is good or bad, I REFUSE TO SAY! =P See you in June then, G4C.

I will just be G4C's personal EMT. He'll break them, send them to me, then I'll return them for more fun. :) Good times. Don't mind us though, all bark and no bite for the time being. Unless working BCT gets us angry enough. ;)

Sounds like a plan...now there's legal tag-teaming for you. :P

Crossfit is a sick work-out program. I do that just to stay in shape.

us preppies have the pleasure of meeting Cadet Curry on wednesday at a briefing he will be giving. Should be interesting. Soon to be Cadet Colonel :-x!

dude ... Cadet Curry is a she... just fyi...

ummm no he isn't

Just dont tell Cadet Curry he is a girl; well you could I'm just not sure it would be a wise thing to do.

duran, I'll be sure to let my squad mate know you think he is a she. ;)

Ouch Duran have you ever considered a witness protection program?

Ouch is right! Not even a mysterious screen name to hide behind... a quick scan of the global reveals your first, middle, and last name - isn't that right AMD? ;)

Did the same thing PETKO. Too easy!

Wow, this guy's first name and middle initial is the same as mine. O.o

Well think of it this way Cadet Duran, after Cadet Curry finishes with you, You will have an EMT (Hornet), and a cadre (G4C). Double ouch.

he's also in charlie squad, get him!
Any other info u guys wanna kno, hit me up. :-D

i also didnt know that Cadet Curry was a preppie too
