Physics 1

I plan to take Bio 2 and Physics 1 during summer C..do you guys have any advice on whether I should take PHY2048 during the summer? Would it be too difficult?

I'd rather not take it in the fall since I will be taking Orgo 1 and calc 2..

Thanks in advance =)

PHY2048 is physics 1… If you’re just taking the 2 classes you should be fine. In a non-summer semester you’d have Bio, Physics, and a few other classes on top. PHY2048 isnt’ that challenging, it’s just about keeping up with your work, weekly homework and quizzes. Attendance requirements for class too.

Yes I want to take only BSC2011/2011L and PHY2048/2048L during summer C. I just wanted to know if physics would be too difficult during the summer term, since it’s more fast-paced than during the fall.

Oh I’m sorry I was a little confused. Have you had any physics background in highschool? Physics 1 is mostly about kinematics, so it’s pretty easy if you already have some background. Summer C classes arn’t usually that much faster, just because Summer C is nearly as long as fall or spring. The main difference is that the periods are longer, really.

If you’re gonna be able to do Calc 2 and Orgo, you’re going to be able to do Physics 1.

Hmm I heard I shouldn’t take Physics 1 at the same time as Orgo. That’s why I wanted to do it in the summer. I did take physics in high school and got an A in the class but I just hear college physics is really hard.

Anyways, do you think it would be better to do Calc 2 and Bio 2 in the summer, and then Physics 1 and Orgo in the fall?

I have a stronger background in Calculus so maybe it would be better to do Calc 2 in the summer instead of physics. I just really don’t know which ones I should combine to make my life easier.

I never took Bio or Orgo, so my info on those is based solely on what my friends tell me. Generally I advise people to take their harder classes in the summer, so they can really focus. In the fall you’ll have probably around 15 credits, so that’s 4-5 classes. Even if your other classes are REALLY easy, they still are going to require some sort of time commitment. In the summer you’ll just have 2 classes, so you can really focus.

I personally though calc 2 was a harder class (IT’s all about sequences and series, not about integration or differentiation.) Pretty much whatever way you go you’re gonna have a hard schedule, but you’ll manage.
