Physics 8A Grades Are Up

Wowowowow....I got an A on the final and I doubt that I got one answer correct!

:D:D:D:D:D

good day! how'd you do?

the streak continues anon?

lol i guess…

:D:D:D:D

how’d you do?

wait-where are grades? i only see my final on bSpace-not the actual letter grade…

congrats dude. i already took 8a a few semesters ago.

still waiting on 3b to see if my own streak is snapped or not… :(

it was out of 175 right?

damn, didn’t do as well as I had hoped to…but hopefully its enough to get a decent grade in the class overall.

160…no?

histogram says 160

oh damn we have a histogram too.

if this is correct, i got 1.7sd above the mean

YEEE

well also i was lecture 2, so ours might be out of 175 still (though there was 1 part of the question we didn’t have to do…)

crossing fingers for great news when bearfacts updates

Is it just the score on the bspace gradebook?

Mine lists a score out of 100. What does that mean?

same calstudent-mine is listed out of 100. how can this be if the midterms are each out of 100 too?

im pretty sure its just a listing - your raw score is probably the number you see

is there a key yet for lec 2-i only see lec 1’s on bspace resources

Wait – wouldn’t it be just a percentage translation rather than a raw score?

Because it would be awfully ******-y of them to put, say 95/100 and it actually mean 95/175… BIGGG difference.

ok thank god thats what i was thinking.

they would be total dicks if they made a mistake like that. plus if its typed as out of 100, i dont think the system would have let them input grades for anyone with over 100 pts on the final

…god i wish it were tmrw morning-the suspense is killing me…

no way it can be a percentage. me and my friends all have scores over 100 points and they are shown as they are.

That is the single meanest thing I’ve ever heard anyone do.

Maybe you all just got extra credit…?

chaos: but does it say out x/100 or x/175 for you?

I’m confused too, for those who got higher than 100 –> is it listed as x/100, or something else?

Instructors can choose to grade using points or percentages.

In your site’s menubar, click Gradebook.
Click Gradebook Setup.
Under “Grade Entry”, select your preferred grade option.
Note: If you select Points, then when you add a gradebook item, you will be asked to enter the “Gradebook Item Point Value”.

It doesn’t seem terribly difficult to JUST make it out of *ing 175.
Don’t * with us like that, physics GSIs :(
