Physics c1401 vs c1601

Hi Guys,

I'm starting Columbia this Fall!!! Majoring in Astrophysics!

I was wondering, which Physics course is better ? c1401 or c1601 ? Which is better? How are the courses different ? I've read that c1601 is more 'advanced', but what does that even mean ?

I have done some Calculus in high school, and self-taught my way past Calculus 1 , and the Math Prof is allowing me to do Cal 2, so I would be OK for the math in the physics class. Or should I take 1401, and then jump to 1602 next semester?

HELP!

Don’t skip the lanes (i.e., 1401-1602). If you’ve only taken Calculus 1 material you might find yourself between a rock and a hard place in 1601. The Calculus might be the limiting factor. If you’ve taken Physics C in high school or consider yourself to have mastery over the introductory-level concepts, you should take 1601 and try it out for a few weeks. If you struggle, drop down.
