Question. D took AP Physics C--mechanics in high school. She was the only one in the class that had not taken 1 year of regular physics first. She made it through the class well with a high B and got a 4 on her AP exam (which surprised her). She is really strong in math, getting a 5 on Calc BC as a junior. Is AP Physics C enough of a foundation to skip Physics 1112?

So, she can get credit for Physics 1112. Should she take the credit or should she take the class? It looks like she will need to take Phys 2213 and 2214. Will she be well prepared for these or potentially starting from behind?

Yes she can get credit for 1112 with a 4 in AP Physics C mech.
And as a chem e she only needs to take phys 2213 not 2214.
You know I found all of this info from the cornell site not by
asking random people online. And since she is chem e she should
just skip 1112.

We know she can skip per the Cornell AP credit table on the CoE website. The question was more about should she skip?

We were not sure how important the basis from Physics 1112 would be for subsequent classes. She did well in AP class and on the AP test but may have some holes because she has not had AP physics B or a general high school physics class at all.
