Piano Players

I've been playing for an obscenely long time, much of which unfortunately was wasted listening to bad teachers :-(. Never let teachers dictate what music you play.

I have no idea what the levels mentioned are. This year's repertoire includes Bach's Second Partita, Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit (Ondine and le Gibet, Scarbo we will see to next year), Chopin's Fourth Ballade, and Beethoven's Les Adieux Sonata. The piece I'm concentrating on is the Bach. I've been thinking about working on the Rach 2, but it seems everyone has played it.

Yep, thelittleone, Tchaikovsky's first is definitely awesome.

While we're on the subject of music, have you guys ever had to ditch a teacher who you just couldn't work with? If so, what did you say?

ABRSM - passed grade 8 3 years ago.

I've had the same teacher for 9 years, and I don't think I can ever "ditch" her because she's helped me so much and there's just a bond that has formed between us.

hmmm...ditch teacher?

Maybe the one I have currently. She isn't controlling 'nuff :|

I did have a wonderful piano teacher years and years ago,
then he just vanished one day. Poof!

He did not tell any of his students where he was going, and their have been no calls from him since. We really have no clue where he went, but the one thing I do know is that I still owe him twenty bucks.
