Okay, so I already go to Rutgers. But my little cousin is going to be applying to schools next year and has narrowed his list to about 10, and it is very similar to what mine was.

Rutgers New Brunswick
F&M
Ursinus
UDEL
Muhlenberg
James Madison
Quinnipiac
TCNJ
NC State
Maryland

I would like you to choose the best school... in terms of academia and social life. I keep on telling him that I believe Rutgers is awesome, especially in the liberal arts areas which he is interested in. I also beleive in terms of money, none of them are that much better that it would be worth spending more money to go to school there compared to Rutgers(in state).

-Maryland- great campus aesthetics and pretty good academics

-UDel- pretty good academics but it's a mid-size state school so I would say the social scene doesn't seem the best compared to others on the list

-James Madison- great party's, just awesome social scene combined with alright academics, nice campus

-Rutgers- it would be in-state, and I honestly think it is given a bad rep. for not being the prettiest school out there, pretty good academics

Overall, I think James Madison and Rutgers seem like the two best ones on the list, but if Rutgers is in-state I would say at least they have an alright safety.

I would say TCNJ personally, it's very affordable, the classes are small, all classes are taught by a TA....what more could you want from a public university? Rutgers is huge and kind of like a bureaucracy. It just depends whether you like the small or large school atmosphere. TCNJ has also one of the most beautiful campuses in the US?
