I submitted my application days ago, and suddenly discovered an error...

can't believe i made that mistake..
i didn't realize that Berkeley doesnt have an alternative major option like other campuses...
so i picked BioE(first choice) and then went ahead and picked EE..then ya... my first choice disappeared.....

now shows on my application my major is EECS. it is really not a problem for me IF i can get in with EE(i wish= =)...
but the thing is that i wrote an essay talking about my commitment and volunteering works related to BioE................ (fail... i know...)

how dad is this? having an essay not related to your major whatsoever??

what should i do??? plsss help??

i tried to call the UC apps.. but they were busy all day... im gonna try tmrw as well.

lol and I don’t think it matters if your coming to Berkeley as a freshman…? Maybe I’m wrong but that might be your intended major which means it wouldn’t matter.

^ it is my intended major~ but berkeley “recommend” us to explain in personal statement why we apply for that particular major… ><

and thanks everyone for helping out!
but on berkeley’s website says “If you have changes to a submitted application, please click here or use Ask Oski. DO NOT email or contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with these questions.”

so i did use the ASK OSKI thing… i basically like an email and they said they will respond in 72 hours, which i highly doubt…

and on the COE website says if i need to change major, i have to WRITE to admission office by Nov.30, which is today.

im wondering what WRITE to means exactly? should i mail a letter? or is there a form i need to fill out? or can i just email??? im sooo confused!!

Maybe you could email the COE??? That might work… You could email one of the advisors within the COE. They might be able to forward it to the right people. You need to think outside the box!

They actually allow you to change your major online up to the deadline - maybe you should’ve read that in the instructions. I don’t think you can change it now, but you can always email/call them and ask.

FYI Bioengineering is harder to get into than EECS.

I meant the ask oski thing. Didn’t you say it’s like an email and they said they would respond in 72 hours? That’s probably your best bet as of right now.

ask oski replied saying they only deal with technical problems… then should i call the admission office even if on the website it says dont contact them?
