Picking Psych Classes- How to use AP Credit?

I don't know what score I got on the AP, but I'm assuming it's a 4 or a 5. I don't know if I could say I mastered the material, but I think I have a good, general understanding of the topics that are covered in Intro to Psych.

I want to use my AP credit to place out of Psych 1101, but if I want to major in psychology (possibly biopsychology), should I just take psych 1101, to brush up on my understanding of psych intro topics? I really want to move forward though....

And speaking of moving forward, are all psych courses that don't have prerequisites open to freshmen? For example, I'm interested in taking Psych 2230 (Intro to biopsychology) or Psych 2650 (Intro to psych and law). But do I have to start in the 1000 level classes? (ie Psych 1102: Intro to Cognitive Science?)

Thanks!

You should skip PSYCH 1101 - although it’s fun, you probably won’t get much out of it. If you’d like, you can sit-in on some of the lectures though - they’re usually very fun.

Hmm go on the psych department website for info (i’m not sure) - but I have several friends who took more advanced psych courses very early on.
