pictures of dorms

I may be a little late, but there is a possibility of me changing dorms. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of a-i, like the showers and bathrooms. Thanks!

I don’t have pics of the showers and bathrooms however it is very similar to a gym bathroom if you have ever been to one, there is like 5 sinks in one room, 4 toilets in a room linked by open doorway to sink room, and the shower room is linked closed blinds to the sink room.

If you don’t mind me asking what dorm you have already applied for?

i selected a-i without having taken a look at it. I know staying there won’t be that bad, I just really want to see the bathrooms. and do the beds allow one to put those stumps to increase the height?

I don’t see why not, but i’m not sure. I’ve heard A-I and East Lo are the two most social fun dorms, so I think you find the most typical dorm experience at A-I. The room itself isn’t much different than Pentland, I’ve stayed in both and they are relatively the same size with Pentland beds being raised much higher off the ground. However Pentland is more of a private dorm experience with each room having their own bathroom and I think it’s like 5 people to 2 showers. Sorry to digress, but overall Pentland is a more private, study related dorm i would say however there is still a lot of fun you just have to know where to find it while A-I is more of everyones hooking up with everyone in the hall and just social fun/chaos. You can still stay focused in A-I you just will have a harder time than someone in Pentland. I signed up for Pentland for the privacy even though i’m a pretty social person so I can have the luxury of having a quiet place while i can always venture over to A-I or East Lo for fun! And when I was staying at East Lo i got used to the bathrooms pretty quick, you just don’t have much privacy when compared to Pentland’s bathroom system.

uhh let me try to remember the restroom

when you enter, you’ll see sinks. then, there’s an opening to the left and right side. left takes you to a little room of shower stalls, and right takes you to a little room of toilets.

the beds do have legs… but you can probably put bed risers.

this may sound dumb, but by privacy you mean what?

well if it is a little room of shower stalls how many stalls are there?

sorry for asking too many questions.

pentland has one shower stall. When one person is showering, no one else can shower. Just like a regular restroom.

ai has a community shower. I don’t remember how many there is in AI, but in east lo… there are 4 or 5. It’s really not a big deal. most of the time when I went to shower, no one else was there… so yeah.

Just throwing this out there, West Lothian can also be very social because the doors can remain open compared to the doors in East Lothian that close on their own.

Also you won’t need the stumps. All the beds in all the dorms have 4 different height options that you can put in for a work order and the dorms come in and set it to the height that you want it. It’s free once every quarter I believe.

So for the community shower, are the showers separated by a small wall or something?
or is it just like a small hall with a bunch of shower heads?

Are the dorm room floors carpet or hardwood?

it’s carpet.
