Pictures w/ application

Hi, for some of the BS's I am applying to they allow you to attach a picture. This of course is optional, but I'd like to attach one nonetheless.

Should I use a picture that was taken professionally at school by a school photographer? Or is it better to use one that was taken casually, like a picture of me on vacation or something?

Thank you.

school pictures i think are better. more formal.

I joke with my friends at deerfield they have a tendency to accept students on the more attractive side lol

Why do they need a picture? To see that you’re the same person that does the interview? I’m confused.

A couple of the schools on my list allow you to attach a photo. The school I was referring to in particular in my original post was St. Andrews (DE). I remember reading somewhere that they want to start “connecting names with faces.” I also think it helps to see what student is behind all those extracurriculars, test scores, etc.

Yep - that’s it. Connect names with faces. When you’re screening thousands of applicants, it makes it easier to keep everyone straight and serve as a reminder to the interviewers.

Love when people send us school pictures. Don’t send us vacation pictures from the Caribbean. We are reading your apps in February in New England. Don’t make us jealous. Good luck with your applications!
