I wanted to know if i can take Spanish 2 for IGETC, without havng to take Spanish 1 first? The lady at the assessment center said i can do that, but i am not sure. Can anyone please clarify?

I don’t have an answer, sorry, but I do have some advice. Take either Perez or Oleas (spelling may be a little off) if you can. If you do go straight to Spanish 2, though, and you don’t know much Spanish, don’t take Padillo. Nothing against her, and it’s not that she’s a bad teacher, it’s just that I could imagine her course being reeeeeeeally pretty intense if you don’t walk into that class with some knowledge of how Spanish works and already having a decent vocabulary.

Regardless, I’d like to know the answer to this. If what the assessment center lady said is true (which I’m not totally convinced is the case), then it sucks to be me. I would’ve been able to go straight to Spanish 2, instead of taking Spanish 1 last semester Spanish 2 @ Pierce in the current semester, which means I’d be in my first semester at UCSC right now… :-/

yeah, you can do that, i have asked my counselor before.

That’s awesome, totally sucks to be me!
