Hi everyone,
I was planning on applying to Pitt for the fall 2016 term, and i noticed from other threads that completing the cost analysis form can be very successful in some cases. However, you must have other scholarship offers from comparable schools. Being a NMSF and very probably a NMF, I am guaranteed full tuition at schools like Baylor. However, these scholarships are conditional on the fact that I list the colleges as my first choice. Therefore, I wouldn’t have technically received the scholarship offer until my first-choice college is set in stone in May, which would be too late to fill out the cost analysis form. Would I still be able to use the conditional NMF scholarships at colleges like Baylor on the cost analysis sheets at Pitt? Or would I have to have other scholarships?
Thanks to everyone in advance.
Because so many factors go into a cost analysis, I would strongly encourage you to see what you may be offered by Pitt and other schools before planning to submit this form. Our Scholarship Committee doesn’t even accept Cost Analysis forms until after January 15th (our deadline to apply in order to be automatically considered for scholarships). If the time comes and you find you still have questions about this process next year, feel free to send me a direct message here for more information.
Best of luck,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@hailtopitt1787 Ok, thanks! In case I do submit the form, though, would Texas A&M be considered a “comparable school”?
@Copperrrrrrrrrrr, I am not on the Scholarship Committee, so I can’t say for sure. But once it gets closer to the right time to send the form in, you can absolutely contact me and I will help you get the info you need.
Best of luck!
