Ok, I'm aware that I 'm posting in a biased forum, but oh well.

So, Pitt granted me conditional acceptance to their pharmacy school, and I was also accepted to UIC's GPPA pharmacy program. I don't know if you guys here are familiar with University of Illinois at Chicago, but I'm torn between the two and I can't decide.

On one hand, I love Pitt and how I don't have to take physics to apply to the pharmacy school (I do perfectly well in Bio and Chem, but I flunked physics so i become paranoid whenever i hear "f=ma"). The GPPA program requires me to take many physics classes.

However, rankings wise, UIC's GPPA program/academics are definitely better. I know I shouldn't base my judgements based on rankings, and I am suspicious of them in the first place. I'm just asking your opinions if you guys are familiar with either programs.

jytang- my son is a sophomore and received conditional acceptance as an entering Freshman last year. He was officially accepted in February to the School of Pharmacy. He has loved Pitt from the beginning. Everything from the course work itself, but playing intramurals, watching D1 sports and the city of Pittsburgh itself.
He was accepted to 8 of 8 of the schools he applied to, but Pitt offered him a great scholarship. When he was accepted in the fall of his senior year of high school, we made an appointment to visit the Pharmacy School and met with Robbie the admissions counselor. She spent an hour talking to us and answering all of our questions, and he was convinced that Pitt was the place for him. He received his scholarship shortly after that and it sealed the deal.
I’m not familiar with University of Illinois, but when you look at these rankings [Best Pharmacy Programs | Top Pharmacy Schools | US News Best Grad Schools](http://■■■■■■/q9Z0o) both schools are #14 so in my opinion ranking is a moot point.

Another plus with Pitt is has just about every possible major related to Health Care. You’ll be in classes the first two years with future Nurses, Doctors, Dentists, PAs, PTs etc. With two hospitals on campus and several others close by, there are many opportunities for internships.

I would look at your total costs for the six years to help in your decision! If you have any other specific questions, feel free to PM me.

UIC is definitely not considered to be a better school than Pitt. You could say Illinios-Urbana-Champaign is generally ranked ahead of Pitt but not UIC. UIC is ranked #147 by US News, Pitt #58. Pitt is ranked significantly higher in every ranking out there if you go look at them.

Both UIC and Pitt Pharmacy schools are ranked 14th by US News.
