Hi,

So I just bought a new laptop for school and it came with a free ipod touch. I want to use this but I really don't want to pay $.99 for EACH song (especially cause a lot of them are now like ~$1.29).

I know there are programs like limewire and other p2p file-sharing programs, but they give you a LOT of viruses.

Just wondering if anyone knew any sites that WORKED. I've looked on youtube for "tricks" where you play a song off of playlist.com, then it goes into your bookmarked history and you're supposed to get it from there and convert it to Windows Media Player but a lot of that simply doesn't work.

Please help!

Also feel free to PM me if you don't want to write it here.

Thanks!

you could always import any CDs you may have. also, you can have some friends burn you cds too (technically not legal either)

You’ll find out about a network at UC Berk that shares free music. Just ask around.

You could try dilandau.com. You could also download videos off of Youtube (mp4) and convert to .mp3. You could use Demonoid if you’re looking for torrents now that TPB is dead (unfortunately I have no invites left as of now). Then again, torrenting music is not worth the risk now that most songs are available elsewhere.

Of course, I’m not at Berkeley yet, but I’ve heard good things about DC++.

mp3raid.com is good for individual songs (as opposed to buying whole albums)

i’ve never had a problem with limewire/frostwire giving me viruses. i think as long as you are careful about what you download, and know what files to avoid you’re okay. but even then, use it as a last resort.

my preference is DC++. it’s simply fantastic.

You could go check out CDs from libraries.

Haha, checking out CDs from the library, like birdhouse said xD
And changing youtube videos to mp3 works, tooooo

I’ve tried both DC++ and eMule, but network settings/configuration is complicated for me so I just stick to youtube videos. 95% of the time, the songs are there anyway.

Torrents and anti-virus software is the easiest way to go. I only download flac albums now too so you can google lossless album sites and download the best quality possible then just encode it if you need tunes on your iPod.

^^ audiophile much? lol.

haha, straight up :)

You can buy CDs on Amazon and sell them again. Better quality

I use either elbo.ws or hypem for individual songs
