So I am scheduled to take the Foreign Language Placement Exam at the CTOPs Freshman Orientation. I'll be taking the Spanish Test. Although I met the requirement of courses in High School for foreign language, I have not been in a spanish class in over a year. What does it mean if I do terrible on the placement exam?

Not much...I did horribly on mine...worst case senario...you'll end up in Spanish 1....I did this with Latin (I'd also taken the SAT2...with very different results)...but after seeing language classes here, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being in level one as fast as they move...we covered pretty much everything I learned in 4 years of high school Latin in Latin 1

My d scored 770 on her Spanish w/Listening Subject Test. Do you think this will be used for placement or for credit? She would actually prefer it be used for her foreign language requirement. If not, she'll start learning a 4th language with French I....
