I know this question might seem irritating, and not really one I should ask, but as an international student, good employment straight after college is necessary for me. Can any current student/knowledgeable parent tell me about the career avenues open for graduates in the fields of finance?
Hi there, I’m a student at MoHo. Although I am not an economics major, I’ve noticed that the trend of econ majors is a hit if you take advantage of your resources. You have to be quite proactive to land a good one and as an international considering a STEM double major would be a good idea since it give you a visa extension in the United States. Do you have any other particular questions?
Thank you @MHCstudent101! I’ve been looking further into options and have narrowed it down to Econ, Stats or CS. I’ve read your previous thread about CS, but what are your general impressions about Stats as a major and the strength of the department?
Stats is pretty decent I think – most people are double majors as one might suspect. I’ve found the classes I’ve taken in the department to be a mixed bag. I would recommend coupling stats-concepts heavy classes with programming/coding if you’re most interested in industry jobs. I know a lot more Math majors and that major seems quite tight knit as a group.
thank you @MHCstudent101 ! I recently committed to MHC, hope to see you there
