Hey everyone! I have a question about placement tests if I'm a biology major in CAS. If I'm planning on taking Chem 207 and Bio101, does this mean I still have to take the placement tests during orientation for Chem? And is there a bio placement test? Also, I received a 5 on the AP CalcAB exam, but I want to start with CalcI at Cornell... so do I have to take the placement exam for this also? Sorry there's so many questionss... I'm just really confused about this haha

i thought there was just placement tests for math and language.

i think you have to take them no matter what, only not if you have placed out of them with a 5 on the AP tests

you have to take the math placement test regardless of what you got on the AP..they make you take the test because they want the people who fail placed in remedial math...don't worry, though; the rest is really easy. also, if you got a 5 on AB, you might want to think about taking Calc II, it's really not that bad.

Wait, I'm pretty sure you don't have to take the math placement test if you got a 5 on the AP test. You get automatic credit, I think, according to their advanced placement credentials sheet.

hmm..I got calc credit and still had to take the test; I got a 4 on the AP, though (but it still counted as credit). I don't think they'd make those who got a 4 take the text and exempt people who got 5s.

I had a 5 on the AP test and took Math 213 w/o a placement test.

well, regardless of the policy, the placement test is really easy
