Hello,
I am an incoming freshman for Miami University of Ohio's class of 2014. On the website for accepted students they told us to take our placement tests by May 10. I took the French one because I have been taking it so long and I am in the AP Class.
I one look at the Math Placement test and I nearly fell over. They want us to take two tests: one for pre-calc and one for calc. I myself am not good at math, although I like it. I was slated to take pre-calc this year but switched to taking probability and statistics because I barely passed trig. It was a smarter decision for my GPA and all.
However, when I glanced at the tests I had no idea what to do; I haven't taken pre-calc or calc. They still want our results. Should I even bother taking it? Or should I just fill in random bubbles? Honestly, I only know one answer on the entire thing. I didn't do well on the math on the SAT and ACT so I figure I'm going to wind up in remedial college algebra next year. Should I still try it out even though I have NO idea what I'm doing?

You should take it just so they don’t keep harrassing you to get it done!

And here I thought the discussion was going to be about whether to take the test for credit or take the course to raise your GPA…
