Hi, I think I'll do fine on the algebra placement test. I heard it was easy? Or was that a lie? I'm wondering about the trigonometry test. I took trig 2 years ago and pretty much forgot everything and I didn't see a sample test. (I did the sample test for algebra and felt pretty confident) What topics should I brush up on for the trigonometry test? Was the trig test hard? How long did it take? How many questions do I need to get right to place into Calc 1? And I took AP AB Calc this year but bombed the AP test (My fault... didn't study lol) and did well in the class. Would Calc 1 at Pitt be similar to AP AB Calc?

It’s easy. If you can do simple “Solve for X” equations and know y = mx + b you will be fine.

IIRC the test is timed at 20 minutes. Definitely go over Sin/Cos/Tan functions as well as the half-angle and double-angle formulas. I think it is 15 questions total.

You need to do relatively well on the test, but if you don’t, it probably does not matter TOO much if you have a good math background from HS to back you up.

AB Calc is Calc 1, yes.
