Does anyone know how when the ucs use copycatch to detect plagiarism in your personal statements? I am a little paranoid because I found a personal statement online that had similar ideas. NO, I did not plagiarize on my ps. I found this essay after I submitted my own. We don’t have any similar sentences or anything. However, we did write about a similar topic. I am quite scared 
I believe UC’s probably receive a lot of similar ideas in the essay. As long as you don’t have sentences that are the same, you should be fine.
I don’t know what is used but most software looks for same text, not same ideas. So they will look for similar writing, not similiar topics.
If you didn’t plagiarize you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
