I am an international applying EA to the college of my dreams. I am taking the new SAT in May and am currently looking for a suitable test date for my SAT IIs.

When I checked CollegeBoard.com I realized that there's a test date on June 6th and then (after the summer break) on October 8th. I've been vacillating between those dates.

But what if I want to retake my tests? If I screw up my SAT in May, I should retake it in June. But since I haven't done anything at all for my SAT IIs I think prep time till June is not enough. Therefore I should try sign up for the October date. But: What if I screw up my SAT IIs? Can I retake them in November (even though the EA deadline is November 1st) ?

Quick answers appreciated!

And yes, I know, I should've taken my SAT IIs last year, but I wasn't even sure about whether I wanted to study in the US or not at that time.

Since you said that you don't think prep time till June is not enough, then I would wait until after summer so you can get at least a few more months or prep in before taking it... that way you'll be more confident in not screwing them up so hopefully you won't need to retake them! I'd say do it in October.

First, many (most?) ED/EA schools will accept November scores, so check the admissions website for your college. As for taking SAT II's I think it would be wise to take SAT II's in June for any courses you have had this year, especially if you took the course at a higher level (AP, IB, "A" level etc) since you'll be preparing for those exams anyway. If you want to take tests that you wont be prepared for by June, delay them to October or November, giving yourself the summer to study.
