Planning on changing my major

Hi all, I'm new here. Originally I had made a huge post but I was logged off before I could post it and the entire thing was deleted so I had to retype this whole thing. Pardon the errors and the general jumble of things.

Currently I'm a UCSD ERC pre-med student going into my 3rd year as a Physiology and Neuroscience major. Basically, I chose this major when I applied to SD because "it sounded cool" and I didn't think I was going to get accepted anyway. I really want to major in either Japanese or Psychology because I find these fields interesting but I don't know if at this point in the game I can change my major or not. For my ERC GEs I've completed most of them except for fine arts and regional specialization which I was saving for either studying abroad in Japan or Taiwan. For pre-med requirements I've completed pretty much everything except for a couple of stray labs and classes. For my major I've done pretty much nothing and will only get started on the upper divs this coming fall quarter with genetics and mam phys I. I was also planning on taking EMT classes at Miramar college over the course of winter-spring quarter but the time constraints from my major classes look as though I won't be able to do even that much less study abroad. Furthermore, I recently was accepted into a biology research lab that I'm actually interested in but otherwise know nothing about and don't know if they'll find my changing of majors acceptable or not.

So in short, I'm now stuck in a major which is threatening to ruin all of my plans for enjoying my college experience (study abroad and EMT). What's more, I've heard that traditional pre-med students in biology majors are not as interesting to Med school admissions as non-traditional students are. I'd like to change my majors but I don't know if it'll be good idea or not or if it's even possible. I'm sure I can deal with my major classes themselves but I don't know if my GPA can last through at least 3 upper div bio courses each quarter and if I can do the things I want without staying until year 6 or something (I was planning on staying five years to begin with but my family is running a bit low on money as it is).
