Plans this summer before boarding school in the fall?

I live in a house!

Houses are cool.

Just a feeling that this is straying off topic.

but
I signed up for CTY (JHU14.1) and AMSP (Berkeley), but no CTY cuhs it started on 22 June and my school ended 25 June…and no AMSP cuhs family business

on another note
im going to be a MUN chair at MUNOS (MUN of Seoul, Korea) and prob doing Alg 2/PreCal and Chem and Latin… and cello… typical asian

Does anyone know how theyre gonna get their winter clothes/boots and stuff? Online? Although I’m not an international student I’ll be in korea until the day I have to get to Loomis and they dont sell stuff for winter in the summer D:

Online, delivered to your room, Prep School Parent’s section of the Where to Find Things is particularly helpful.

You don’t need much cold weather gear until November-ish.

You know us Californians here, we are very cold-prone. (At least, some of us are.)

@ekim5984 I can’t speak for LC, but most schools have organized trips to the local malls. That said, I did most of my stuff online my first winter.

Aren’t the best deals on winter items in the summer @skieurope or are there good deals other times?

Best deals are end-of-season, but the assortment is picked over. In the summer, you really can’t find the true cold weather stuff that you need in New England. Columbus Day brings a lot of sales. @needtoboard

@skieurope you’re right. Right now I’m seeing a lot of button downs on sale and a limited amount of sweaters. Do you recommend buying this early? Growing is always a wild card

@needtoboard Absolutely wait for many reasons. You do not want to overpack especially if you find you end up not wearing half the clothes you do pack. You’ll never find the coat/boots/etc that are needed to survive a NH winter in your area. Aside from the weight-gain from BS food, you’re probably still growing; I added 20 lbs in each of my first 2 years of BS.

What about online?

@skieurope: Is BS food really that fattening?

No, it’s generally healthy. However, it’s all you can eat, and I’m still growing. @mathman1201

@needtoboard I did/do most of my shopping online.

Wow. How tall are you?

@skieurope ^^^

6’1" @mathman1201‌

Whoa you’re a giant. 8-| How much did you grow at bs?
I feel so short now… :(

I’m barely 5 foot 3… Don’t feel short
